PhD Project Description

Changing mobility cultures through co-operative housing

The intention for the PhD project is to investigate individuals’ choices concerning housing and mobilities and their impact on the social practices of everyday life. Looking at the cities of Munich and Copenhagen, the dissertation uses qualitative methods in order to gain in-depth knowledge and insight to social practices regarding mobilities and sustainability. A better understanding of the choices and actions of everyday life practices are key components in understanding how sustainable mobilities can become more widespread. Theoretically the research builds on mobilities research as well as research on everyday life and social practices.
